“Patience and persistence are vital qualities in the ultimate successful accomplishment of any worthwhile endeavour.” Joseph Pilates
My name is Janine Wright. I became an instructor after being a Pilate’s student. I realised that Pilates was the ideal form of exercise. From being in the human resources and finances environment, I went and completed my Pilates Mat course at Pilates Unlimited with Tanya Thompson, then bought and took over the Pilate’s Body Centre Studio in 2011 and have been enjoying myself ever since.
In 2015 a fascia releasing course, enhanced my understanding of the body and what causes limitation in range of motion, mobility, and flexibility. During this course I was briefly introduced to a modality called TRE (Trauma Releasing Exercises) founded by Dr David Berceli.
TRE highlighted the reasons why we hold such deep muscle tension in our bodies and fulfilled a deepening curiosity about the body and how to heal it gently, compassionately, and empathically. This resulted in a qualification as a TRE facilitator in August 2016. I continued my education with TRE through assisting in Supervision training, giving presentations and working with clients. TRE is a process and can take time to help clients.
There was however still something missing from my repertoire that would enable me to help my clients with a more immediate need of pain relief and this led to a certified qualification in Emmett Technique in August 2019. The founder of this amazing technique is Ross Emmett, allows for a gentle, soft touch muscle re-patterning, stress releasing and muscle tension and pain releasing. Adding Emmett to my repertoire gave me another technique to help my clients achieve a feeling of wellbeing and pain free living.
I continuously look for new and innovative ways to help clients achieve the best that is possible for their bodies. I enjoy working for myself, and encourages my clients to work hard in their Pilates classes to gain all the benefits that Pilates has to offer, but to also go a little deeper into body work which is required to release the blockages that can hold you back from a fuller healthier and stress free life.
